Jobs You’re Dying to Get into: Death Investigations and Other Forensic Careers

Sunday October 27, 3:00 - 5:00 pm

For ages 12-18. 

How do detectives examine a crime scene? What do coroners and medical examiners do in the aftermath of someone’s death? How are chemistry and other sciences applied during death investigations?

View video clips about the history of forensic science. Learn about forensic science careers.

Experience hands-on activities related to bones, fingerprints and more!

Hear from a panel of experts, including:
  • Amy Johnson, Kane County Evidence Detective.
  • Jacquie Purcell, Kendall County Coroner and author of Spoiler Alert: You’re Gonna Die.
  • Rob Russell, Kane County Coroner
  • Lee Sunderlin, NIU Chemistry Professor.
